Infrared LED Night Vision

LED Night Vision

This camera has 8 infrared LED night vision lights that produce a clear, quality picture and give you the flexibility to back up your RV in low-light conditions at dusk or in complete darkness at night.

Camera with Built-in Microphone and Monitor with Speaker

Cam-Mic-Monitor Speaker

The built-in microphone on your camera is the perfect tool for backing up your RV. The microphone allows a friend or family member to relay information and instruction to you through your monitors speaker, providing peace of mind as you work together to safely maneuver your RV.

Rear Assist Marker Lines

No more wondering if you're getting too close to that other vehicle. The rear assist marker lines take the guesswork out when backing up. This helpful tool displays reference points of objects within your view to avoid collisions and safely maneuver your RV.

Motion Detection

Motion Detection

The motion detect feature allows you to set the motion sensitivity level of your camera to low, medium, or high. On the low setting, your camera will not detect a pesky raccoon until it's very close or already in your garbage, whereas on high setting, it will detect the raccoon approaching from further away. Your monitor will automatically illuminate to alert you once motion is detected.

Auto-Off

Auto-Off

The auto-off setting is a great power saving option. Working in conjunction with the motion detect setting, this feature allows you to limit the amount of time your monitor stays on. Once motion is detected, you can program your monitor to power off after 10, 20, or 30 seconds of inactivity. The LCD auto off option will only power down the illuminated screen while keeping the monitor on.

I love this camera! It is so much better than I originally thought it would be. I use it for my rearview mirror when traveling, I can see who is behind my Camper and I don't have to use the add on mirrors on my tow vehicle anymore because I can see now with the backup camera in the rear blind spot and the rest with my tow vehicles mirrors. I also can now back my travel trailer into the campsites without my wifes help and do that with only one try. It has been such a nice experience using this camera system.

- FOS43TASF

I purchased this item to make it easier when backing my travel trailer into a spot. It was very easy to install since my trailer was pre wired for a backup camera. While I have yet to use it, since it is no longer camping season in my area, I have tested it out. It has a very clear and sharp picture. I am excited to try it out for real next season.

- FOS43TASF

Camera works as advertised. Wired camera into running lights 5th wheel. Took about 45 min to layout, drill, pull wire, caulk, and mount. I did install 3mm Diameter Snap on Ferrite Core Bead Choke Ring Cord RFI EMI Noise Suppressor Filter for USB / Audio / Video Cable Power Cord on both camera and receiver. Receiver took about 20 min to install. I routed wires nicely, add choke rings. I have 4 bars running 60 mph. Great purchase and very pleased.

Comments

Camera and receivers still working great. Only issue is antenna broke on camera. Purchased aftermarket router antenna 18". Still have 4 bars.

We purchased the Furrion FOS43TASF to use as an observation camera while towing our new 2018 26' Jayco Jay Flight travel trailer. Our Jayco came equipped with a pre-wired mount for the Furrion camera. The pre-wired black female cord for the camera was present but someone at the factory forgot to wire it to power, so when I plugged in the camera, there was no juice... I removed the center clearance light on the back of the trailer, used the supplied power cord and to feed in/splice in from the clearance light. Installation only took about 15 minutes. We already made our first trip this season and the camera worked wonderful. Great picture, no delays, very happy being able to see what's in the back and coming along the sides. We didn't use the monitor mount supplied with the Furrion, instead we used a vent phone mount I had for my phone that worked perfectly. This is our second and the best observation camera for towing a trailer we've experienced. The first one was another brand on different travel trailer we just sold. Our experience with that camera was poor picture quality, delays and blackouts. We definitely would recommend the Furrion FOS43TASF.

- FOS43TASF

Just installed this camera and haven't been on a trip yet. But the install and adjustment went very smoothly. I am very impressed that this camera also has Night Vision, on the occasion I might arrive late to my campsite or home. Next trip on 11/19/21 for Thanksgiving with my late husband's family. Excited and blessed!

I have the camera on the back of a travel trailer. Having a view of the road behind the trailer is indispensible and I am amazed that they are not legally required. I can also see my bikes on the back rack. The only reason I downgrade it one star is because the suction cup for the monitor in the truck often falls off the windshield.

Comments

Good camera. I gave up on the suction cup and prop the monitor up on the console, which is not ideal. It is almost impossible to see with sunglasses on.

works great, it was plug and play my new fifth wheel RV came prewired for this camera system. worked very well for back up camp site and backing the RV into the parking spot at home, also helps keep an eye on those tailgaters while going down the highway

- FOS43TASF

This rear observation system was exactly what I needed to give me some eyes in the back of my towable trailer. The system communicates with a 4 bars of strength using a wireless signal between the camera, located at the back of my 24 foot long (2401RG Minnie Winnebago) trailer, and the monitor mounted in the cab of my Ford F150 XLT. The installation was easy and only took about an hour at most. I located the two wires feeding the center clearance light near the top of the trailer and through a new drilled hole just below the light I was able to feed in/splice in, the camera wires to get the power the camera needed. (Tip. Before this I used a pair of 6V batteries in series to get temporary power to the camera to ensure good signal back to the monitor in the truck and that a good rear view was possible from the intended mounting spot). Now I can see from the trailer's back bumper to about 35 feet behind on the road. As usual the Etrailer team was helpful and the order arrived quickly and correctly. Great Job Julie H. for the last minute assist to correct my order.

My 2019 Keystone cougar was pre-wired for his camera. It made installing it very simple. I've used it for a year now and for the most part it has worked to my expectations. The only problem I am having is it cuts in and out briefly as I'm driving down the road. This does not cause any real problems and I'm not sure what is causing it. It's either that distance is too far or had a loose connection I haven't tracked it down yet. But I would recommend buying the system.

Comments

Thank you for your review. It does sound like the connection may be loose. I recommend to remove the camera from the shark fin mount and make sure the wire connections are fully seated with one another.

The RV backup camera system works great! We pull our boat behind our camper. We can watch our boat constantly to make sure no troubles. Plus the camera is a great help when backing the camper up visually. A great product.

- FOS43TASF

Super easy install if your unit is already equipped with the mounting bracket from the factory. The only thing I was not impressed with was the monitor mount. Quite restrictive if your dash is a grained texture you are pretty much restricted to mounting on the windshield which I found a bit annoying. I happened to have a CD slot mount, and we never use the CD player so I tried it. Couldn't have found a better location!!

- FOS43TASF

by:

I like it a lot I double a travel trailer and a atv trailer it helps me keep a eye on the trailer behind the camper and is great for changing lanes. The only thing I would do different is get the bigger monitor. Thanks

- FOS43TASF

I needed a way to see my Indian motorcycle on a trailer behind my 40' fifth wheel. I had Fords system when I bought my new truck, but there was much more wiring than I wanted to tackle and I was hoping for a non wired system. I bought this with my fingers crossed. Very easy installation of less than an hour and the results were what I wanted

- FOS43TASF

The product was great and installed in minutes. Beautiful picture. The shipping from etrailer was lightning fast, as usual and the price was perfect.

Comments

Outstanding, loved it from day one. Beautiful picture. Accurate guidance system.

I was disappointed to learn that the camera will only turn on when my truck's headlights are on (thought I could use it for monitoring while camping), but that's probably a limitation of my camper. Otherwise, it's been great and the camera definitely helps when backing up or driving down the road.

- FOS43TASF

by:

Well after 6 months in storage after not getting it to work we found out that Forest River has a habit of wiring camera mount backwards. We got the wiring changed and voila!! We love the camera. It helps a lot for backing and traveling

- FOS43TASF

by:

I had the same Furrion but an older version that worked better. This camera goes out every once in a while and often stalls out with a single image. You can't rely on the camera for passing or lane changing because of the video stall. Both antennas are up there is no reason other than poor quality.

- FOS43TASF

by:

Many will say it's expensive or they want to find a cheaper one. I know this works. I could not imagine towing, driving the highways, getting into spots, putting back in storage - without it. Switches to night mode when it's dark. Has sound so I can turn up the volume and my wife/kids can direct me into spots speaking in a normal voice (not yelling in the campground if we are getting in past dark/quiet hours).

- FOS43TASF

Easy mount/installation with pre-package mount on RV and it does as advertised.

- FOS43TASF

by:

Pros: 1. Can see behind me while driving Cons: 1. Screen is too small and lacks clarity 2. Cost is too high Overall: I've used the camera on about half a dozen trips. Knowing what I know now, would I buy it again? No. Too expensive and too little value. It's a cute toy and not much more.

- FOS43TASF

Product arrived on time and easy to install in my fifth wheel which had the Furrion prep package. Installed the camera, attached the trailer to the truck and had instant results. Yolk all of about 20 minutes

- FOS43TASF

Installation was a breeze with the setup I had on my trailer. Reading previous reviews I was expecting I needed to hook the truck up to trailer for it to work. But I don't it is always running. Not sure I like that and I need to figure out why. I will let you know if I get the answer and how it goes when I tow the trailer until then this should be a three but installation was a breeze so I give it a 4.

- FOS43TASF

by:

this camera is great. installed in minutes (rig pre wired ) and easy to use. good for the road to see jerks who crowd in the back, cars passing (although the refresh rate would be better if faster) and good for gas stations and camp sites. would recommend without hesitation. And, George and the team are top notch as usual in getting the buyer into the right product. this is a really good outfit to do business with

Comments

Still working great. Recently used it to back into a tight barn for storage and the infra red feature was awesome. Might consider an upgrade if the refresh rate was substantially upped, but i am satisified. Recommend the product and etrailer.

The camera has been a big plus to our RVing experience. We like the safety it provides while towing to be able to see vehicles approaching from the rear. We also like the volume feature when we back up the rig for communication between driver and spotter.

- FOS43TASF

Everything I needed to add to my trailer. Even though the trailer came already prepped for the Furrion equipment, everything I would have needed was there. I had to find out how my travel trailer was pre-wired to feed power to the camera. My trailer was wired to the lights circuit, but did not connect with the automatic light setting, I had to switch on the lights. Can't wait to try it out on my next trip and return parking. Crossing my fingers.

Comments

After 1st year it is great. I have a hard turn to back into my yard from a busy street. Able to get it done in normally 1 try. Thumbs up.

I attached an install video for the mentioned kits for you to check out as well.

Both the Furrion 5" RV Observation Camera System # FOS05TASF and the 4.3" # FOS43TASF include the same waterproof camera with infrared LEDs to provide nighttime vision. There's a variety of different power plugs used on backup cameras, but it's safe to say that the 2.5 x 5.5 mm barrel plug isn't typically what you find. This means that you'll likely need to either fabricate a power connector of your own, or hard wire any aftermarket...
